What does Selenium Synergy (formerly SeleNext) do?

Jarrow Formulas Selenium Synergy, formerly SeleNext, contains the most effective selenium compound Methylselenocysteine, combined with  BroccoMax, Broccoli seed extract, (rich in sulforaphane glucosinolate), Vitamin B2 (as riboflavin) and Vitamin E (as  d-alpha tocopheryl succinate).

Methylselenocysteine is the predominant and most active form of selenium found in nature and food. Each serving of Selenium Synergy contains 200 mcg of selenium from methylselenocysteine. Vitamins B2 and E are important to the metabolism of selenium.*

Selenium is often included with Vitamins C and E to help fight cancer, heart disease and aging. It has also been used to fight viral infections and may slow the progression of AIDS/HIV. Selenium also contributes to good health by promoting normal liver function.
